We take a step further to make Sherlock expandable to be a fully balanced amplifier with unprecedented driving capability and musicality comparable to amplifier multiple of its cost. How we achieve the goal is to trim all the unnecessary feature and cosmetics, then focus on its core competence – the amplification. In the kernel of Sherlock is a class-A tube gain stage that dominates the sound quality with tube’s unique signature, followed by a single-ended class-A MOSFET power stage to provide plenty of current for whatever demanding headphones. What is unique in Sherlock is we add a bridged circuits in front of the main amp, when activated, which conveniently converts input signal into balanced (positive plus negative polarities) format and feed to left and right channels. It turns one Sherlock into a single channel balanced amp and two Sherlock amps into a truly stereo balanced amplifier.
