Royal Ocean Marine, a leading headhunting /recruitment agencies company, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the purchasing activities for the shipyard, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services. The successful candidate will have a strong background in shipyard procurement, excellent negotiation and communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing a purchasing function. Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet shipyard's objectives. Identify and source suppliers for required materials, equipment, and services. Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure best value. Manage vendor relationships and monitor supplier performance. Coordinate with other departments to understand procurement requirements. Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and inventory levels. Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to inform procurement decisions. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Requirements Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or related field. Experience in shipyard purchasing or procurement management. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Experience in sourcing and evaluating suppliers. Knowledge of shipyard operations and materials/equipment used in shipbuilding. Proficient in MS Office and procurement software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Singapore Citizen and Singapore residents will be given priority in the selection process.
